We offer Community Based Supports, which may include training skills to encourage communication, independence, integration into the community and for personal satisfaction. This is done as we participate in a wide variety of activities outside our homes. Fun is often a large part of these supports.

FACT Oregon empowers families and transforms how communities perceive disability. Our peer support, trainings, and resources equip and empower families, transform how they see disability, and help them have high expectations and dream big dreams for their children. We support families to navigate disability and special education, drawing on the lived experience of our team, many themselves parents of youth experiencing disability, and we call out the critically important role of parent/caregiver as a child’s number one fan and advocate.

Disability rights and other civil rights laws are rooted in a fundamental ideal: that every person, irrespective of their inherent differences, is equal—regardless of where we come from, how we worship, how we look, who we love, or whether we have a disability. Honoring our common humanity is a foundation for our vision of the world.

Navigating the Social Security system can be challenging, especially for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). If you or someone you care for has IDD, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability benefits (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). These programs provide crucial financial support to help with living expenses and medical costs. Applying for these benefits can be a complex process, so it's important to gather all necessary medical documentation and seek guidance if needed. You can start the process online, by phone, or in person at your local Social Security office. Remember, there's support available to help you through the application process.
