Luckily, there are many resources available to support their journey, ranging from specialized schools and inclusive classrooms to vocational training and supported employment programs. These resources can help individuals with IDD develop essential life skills, pursue their passions, and achieve their full potential.

In partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional Education Service District improves student learning by providing equitable access to high-quality services and support.
Our Columbia county centers provide comprehensive early childhood education, health, and nutrition services, tailored to meet the diverse needs of young children. With a focus on creating nurturing and stimulating environments, these centers are dedicated to preparing children for future academic success and fostering their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Additionally, they emphasize strong parent involvement, building a community that actively supports each child’s growth and learning journey.

The Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) program helps families who are working, in school, or receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) pay for child care, including registration fees. We also work with partners across the state to help families find and keep good child care.

Oregon Association of Higher Education and Disability is a coalition of professionals from public and private institutions across Oregon, working to promote equal opportunities and enhance educational experiences for students with disabilities in higher education.
Columbia Regional Inclusive Services (CRIS) provides a continuum of educational services. These services include consultation to parents, early intervention programs and school age teams, support through itinerant teaching, physical therapy, assistive technology, augmentative communication and classrooms for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The purpose of ORTIi is to provide technical assistance to Oregon school districts implementing Response to Intervention (RTI) systems that provide targeted, effective instruction to meet the needs of all students and provide the framework to identify students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). The focus of the project is on literacy, early intervention, and the use of evidenced-based practices.
WildFlower Play Collective is a sliding-scale, member based, indoor playground for kids aged 0-6 created by local moms for local families.
WildFlower is open to our members from 7am to 7pm everyday for drop-in play-time that fits YOUR schedule!
Memberships include daily use of the playspace, weekly classes, events and access to the WildFlower Swap Closet.
Child Care Resource and Referrals (CCR&Rs) are regional programs funded by the Department of Early Learning and Care to recruit and support early learning and care programs, both home- and center-based. CCR&Rs help expand high-quality early learning and care across Oregon by empowering programs with resources and technical assistance.
